The Akimbo Workshops are about bending the culture, about speaking up and being heard. We believe that each of us has more power than ever before to see the world as it is, to contribute and to make things better.
hopscotch design festival

Hopscotch Design Festival is a festival for intent produced by New Kind and Hopscotch Presents. It celebrates the people who are designing the future. Over two days of talks and interactive workshops, this event brings together 50+ speakers and 600+ attendees who are doing work that matters.

THE MORVEN PROJECT
PROGRAM MANAGER FROM 2008 TO 2013
Morven is a 3,000-acre estate that was gifted to the University of Virginia in 2001 by entrepreneur, John Kluge. It is a cross-cultural treasure located three miles from Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello and neighboring Ash Lawn-Highland, the home of James Monroe. Morven is steeped in a rich history of a place fostering innovation, creativity and a vision for a better future, for all.
With guidelines from the donor to use the property to transform UVA into a world-class institution, we worked with the founding team to develop the programs and operations of the facility. Our goal was to create a dynamic destination for critical thinking and problem solving with a focus on cultivating solutions for pressing challenges in a rapidly changing world.
We developed flagship programs like the Morven Summer Institute and the Morven Kitchen Garden and hosted over 400 University and community-related events. The Presidential Precinct, a partnership between UVA, Morven, Monticello, Montpelier, Ash Lawn-Highland, William & Mary and the US State Department to host emerging leaders from around the world was also created.
